When women travel together with other women they can focus on themselves for a change. There is no one else they have to nurture or take care of, except themselves. When women travel with other women they overcome their fears, let go off their inhibitions, and allow themselves to be truly free. Women travel together to rejuvenate their mind, body, and spirit. The camaraderie of like-minded women creates a space where laughter, communication, sharing secrets, and talking about problems is comfortable. And whether one wants to go shopping, or visit a spa, or attend cultural performances, there will be other women who’ll be enthusiastic to join in.
2. Why should I travel with The Wander Girls instead of other women groups?
The Wander Girls was conceptualized with the vision of providing a platform whereby women can interact for travel as well as social and professional networking via our events. TWG is a stimulating and safe way of travel for the discerning woman traveller looking to explore the world. We offer complete services ranging from trips, flights, visa, insurance, foreign exchange and other travel requirements. Our trips are thoroughly researched to ensure an authentic experience at each destination. A TWG team member accompanies you on your wanderings to take care of all the nitty-gritties leaving you free to truly immerse yourself in the place. For the solo woman traveller who’s looking to avoid paying a ‘single supplement’, TWG ensures a ‘room share’ arrangement and matches travellers based on their other interests and preferences. We connect you to the other travellers beforehand thus paving the path for making friends even before the trip has begun. For those with special dietary needs (example: vegetarian), we take special care to see you get the preferred food options to match your palate. Travelling with us also allows you to accumulate reward points which can be redeemed for future trips. 3. Do women travel alone on these trips?
Most of the women travel alone although some women may come with daughters, friends, or relatives. It is a part of our vision to provide women the opportunity to make new friends through our trips and events. So come transform your solo trip by travelling with us and finding like-minded women who share your interest in travel.
4. What type of women travellers will I meet on these trips?
You will meet a diverse range of interesting women of all ages from different walks of life. You’ll meet students, writers, artists, photographers, homemakers, mothers, daughters, working professionals, businesswomen, and those who have retired. TWG participants come from different parts of India, and sometimes from different parts of the world as well. What’s special is that all these women share your desire to feel safe by travelling in a group as you explore the destination of your choice.
5. What is the average size of the group on a TWG trip?
The size of the group on a trip varies based on the trip you select. However, we prefer to keep our group sizes small, in between 6-12 travellers so that all the travellers get to know each other.
6. What is the age group of your clients?
The average age of our clients is 13-65 years of age. There are girls in their teens that travel with their moms, and there are also the young at heart women in their 70’s. The love of travel has no particular age. On different trips you’ll meet women of different ages with a common love for travelling. For privacy purpose information on trip participants including their age, background etc. is not shared by us. Once the trip is closed and final participant list is ready the tour manager connects the participants via email.
7. What kind of shape do I need to be in?
The answer to this question depends on the trip you select. By and large, our trips are comfortably paced to accommodate women of different ages and fitness levels. However, certain trips which are filled with trekking or climbing activities demand moderate-high fitness levels, and we’d have this information provided in the destination overview section of each trip.
8. Does everyone who wants a room share option get it?
Yes, everyone who wants a room share option is ensured of a room share arrangement. In certain trips if last minute travellers join us, the TWG team member will share a room, if required, to ensure everyone has the room sharing option they prefer.
9. How does TWG match roommates?
TWG matches roommates based on multiple factors. We take into account the likes and dislikes, habits, and interests before we pair roommate.
10. I am not very keen to share a room. Can I get a single room?
Yes, you can request a single room for yourself. However, you’ll have to pay a single supplement for this arrangement.
11. What are the accommodations like?
TWG trips feature quality hotels, boutique hotels, home-stays, eco-lodges, deluxe safari camps, and premier guest houses and lodges. We pick accommodations based on safe and central location, within easy reach of the places we need to visit. At some destinations, the accommodation may be away from the city center to provide higher grade stay. We recommend you look up the hotels for a given itinerary before booking the trip.
12. What will the food be like?
TWG provides a variety of food, both local and Indian, ranging from simple and wholesome, to exotic and gourmet. We try to vary the food options so that you can learn about the local cuisine while enjoying the meals. We also understand that you may have certain dietary preferences, ex: vegetarian food- and we take great pains to ensure your preferences are met. At times, when meals are not included, we make sure that there are a number of restaurants in the area where we are staying at or visiting. We’ve often found women love this arrangement of travelling in groups and trying out various cafes and restaurants by themselves.
13. Who are the trip managers?
Our trips are managed by TWG team members. Our team members are experienced travellers and make for great trip companions. Their job is to ensure your safety,comfort, and manage different aspects of the trip. They are not tour guides. TWG may hire local guides on certain trips for specific portions of certain trips and this will be specifically mentioned on the itinerary.
14. What do I need to pack?
Certain items are standard across all trips whereas some vary from trip to trip. Once the final participant list is prepared, you’ll receive a complete dossier including essentials you need to pack for that trip.
15. How do I arrange transportation to meet up the group?
We are able to assist with flight/train/road arrangements, if desired, to meet up at the destination point where our trips begin. Usually, our trips commence and end, in or near city centers to make it easy for you to join the trips.
16. What if I want to arrive early or stay on after the trip?
We assist you with hotel bookings and other services that you might require, to make this part of your journey safe and comfortable.
17. How far in advance do I need to reserve my trip?
The earlier the better. As far as trip reservations go, the saying ‘the early bird gets the worm!’ definitely holds true. If you book before the ‘early bird’ deadline ends, you get discounts and freebies not available to those who book after the early bird deadline passes.
18. How do I pay for a trip?
You have the option to pay via online bank transfer (NEFT, RTGS), at par cheque, or deposit money in our account in any branch of ICICI bank in your area. Additionally, we’ll soon start accepting online credit card payments.
19. What is included in the cost?
When you book a trip with us, we send you a trip itinerary which has an “Included” section which specifies what is included in the trip. The cost usually includes accommodation, daily breakfast, excursions, local transportation, local tour guide hired by us for specific activities, and the services of a TWG team member who accompanies you. Some trips also include lunches and/or dinners.
20. Is the TWG trip departure guaranteed?
TWG reserves the right to cancel any of our trips at any time for any reasons be it that there are there are too few participants or if the quality of the trip or the safety and well-being of the travellers is believed to be compromised. In such situations, refund of all payments received by The Wander Girls from you shall constitute full settlement. The Wander Girls and the holding entity Tripcooker Travels LLP is not responsible for any additional loss incurred on travel arrangements or tickets booked by the participant directly for any of our trips.
21. How safe are your trips?
In the words of our founder, Hetal Doshi, “I believe every tour operator makes passenger safety a topmost priority. As a women’s tour operator, we take this a step further by choosing hotels, villas, and stays in safe locations. We work with reliable transport companies and top class service providers in other countries. Before each trip, we send out checklists with tips on essentials for each trip. On the trip, our tour in-charge ensures that the trip goes smoothly for all our participants. Additionally, we also ensure that our participants are clear on cultural differences,at various destinations as well as the dress-code, if any. With all these checks and balances in place, our trips have been safe and hassle-free for our participants.”
22. What does it mean when a trip has ‘D-I-Y’ in the name? What are “Do it yourself” trips?
DIY trips are fixed departure women only group trips where a TWG manager does not accompany the group. A local tour guide may be provided for some/all portions of sightseeing as per the itinerary.

23. What do you offer under custom trips?
We have two options under custom trips:
Custom trip planning: We create a custom trip plan for you taking into account your interests and preferences.
Custom tour packages: If you’d like us to plan, book & manage the custom trip, we take care of your entire trip under custom tour packages.
24. Are your custom trip and custom tour offerings for women only?
Our custom trip planning and custom tour package offerings are open to men and women. However as we conduct women only trips in India and around the world, we’re well-equipped to handle special requirements from women travelling in groups or by themselves.
25. How do you communicate with me for planning my trip?

27. What is the charge for custom trip planning?
The custom trip planning charges are fixed on the slab, based on the number of days of trip planning required by you. You can take a look at the charges here.
28. The trip planning cost is for one person or multiple people?
For upto two people, the prices can be found here. For each add-on person an additional cost of Rs 2000 per person will be levied. Solo travelers get a discount of 20%.
29. What are the costs for custom tours?
The costs for custom tours vary based on the package designed and booked for you. However, a non-refundable advance equivalent to the cost of planning a custom trip, based on the number of days, is payable for us to start working on your custom tour package. This is adjusted against the cost of the tour package.
Thus non-refundable deposit (2 people) for custom tour for us to start planning the custom tour would be as below-mentioned
Upto 7 days trip- Rs 5000
7 to 14 days trip- Rs 7500
15 to 21 days trip- Rs 9900
This is inclusive of Government service tax.
30. What happens if I need to cancel a custom tour?
Cancellations within 30 days of the trip would result in no refund. Partial refunds if any, for cancellations made prior to 30 days of the trip would depend on the terms & conditions of third parties and suppliers we work with for booking your trip. Please check this with us prior to booking a custom trip for your chosen destination.
31. What are TWG events all about?
TWG organizes various ‘women only’ events. TWG has two kind of events – Meetups and Mixers. These events offer women a platform to interact and communicate with other women and participate in activities and workshops which interest them.
32. What are Meetups?
Meetups are get together opportunities that cater to a spirited lady’s diverse interests. Our events present ladies with the opportunity to socialize in a casual setting, exchange views, ideas, and experiences. These encompass luncheons, workshops, and various lifestyle events created to inspire, educate, motivate, and pamper a lady.
33. What are Mixers?
Mixers are informal, zero-pressure meets, where ladies can come together and chat. It’s a fun way to meet, connect, and network with ladies from different walks of life. If you’re interested in widening your business, professional, or social circle, the mixers could provide you an opportunity to make invaluable contacts. If you’re a lady who wants to start a new business, or are in the process of founding one, this could be a great opportunity to meet other ladies, and learn from their experiences.
We believe you’ll enjoy networking at our mixers; not only will you have a relaxed drink or meal with the ladies (without feeling conscious) but also go home with enormous value added to your business or professional ambitions.
34. Do I have to pay for the events or are they free?
We have some events which are free and some events which you have to pay for. The charges for each event are mentioned on the page for that particular event. We advise you to RSVP and pre-register in advance for whichever event you’re interested in, whether it’s free or paid.
35. What are the advantages of pre-registering for a paid event?
If you pre-register for a paid event, you’d have to pay the rate mentioned on our site vis-a-vis last minute registrants who may have to pay more. Secondly, if some events are popular and get filled quickly, you may not be able to attend it if you don’t register in advance.
36. What are the advantages of pre-registering for a free Event?
RSVP or pre-registering for an event, even if it’s free ensures that even if the event is filling up your name is on our list. Last minute registrants may have to be turned away. We want you to avoid such disappointments.
37. Do I need to carry my business card for your Events?
We suggest that you carry your business card with you for any event you choose to attend. You never know whom you’ll end up building connections and networking with at our events!
Travel to India
38. What services do you offer under travel to India?
We offer two options for tourists who want to travel to India.
India Trip Planning: We create a personalized trip plan for your trip to India taking into account your interests and preferences.
India Tour Packages: If you would like us to plan, book & manage your trip to India, we take care of all your trip requirements from the time you land in India till the time you catch your flight back home if you decide to book a tour package.
39. Are the India trip planning and India tour package offerings for solo women travellers and International women groups only?
Our India trip planning and India tour package offerings are available to all tourists, men and women. However we conduct women only trips in India and around the world, and we’re well-equipped to handle special requirements from solo women travellers and International women groups.

45. Do I get any refund if I need to cancel the trip that you’ve planned and booked for me?
India Trip planning services are non-refundable. If you’ve opted for an India tour package then the refund would depend on the terms & conditions for third party hotels, guesthouses, lodges, airlines, etc. that we are using for your trip. Please check with us before booking your custom tour to India. The deposit charged for your India tour package is non-refundable. Trips cancelled within 30 days of arrival date would result in no refund, partial or otherwise.
