Food which sets the all the five senses in motion, has, since time immemorial, enthralled humans, A visit to Dharamshala is guaranteed to delight food lovers.
Dharamshala is a melting pot of three generations of Tibetans, Himachalis, Gaddis, Kashmiris, and Nepalis. Hot tasty noodle soups or ‘thukpa’ comes to mind when Tibetan cuisine is mentioned. Next to thukpa, momos are most popular. Steamed or fried, momos come with a variety of fillings like cabbage, carrot , spinach, potatoes and chicken. They are served with a dollop of chilli sauce which can bring tears to your eyes but leave you wanting more.
